Grampians Region Midwifery Programs
The Grampians Region Maternity Project Team members are working on programs to improve access for all midwives to education and skill development. The 2011 programs are under review and will be offered again in 2012.
The 2011 and 2012 Regional Midwife Program offers midwives from the Grampians Region the opportunity to improve their clinical confidence through access to a supported professional development program for the duration of the year. The program participants develop their own learning plan in partnership with the program coordinator and utilise available study days and on line learning in addition to clinical placement at Ballarat Health Services to complete the program. Placement may be a combination of supernumery (unpaid) and paid according to their needs. At present the program is not taking any new applicants as it is under review.
